Cavallini & Co. Antico Silver Frame 4" x 6"

In a small Florentine workshop, artisans have been applying silver leaf by hand to wooden frames since 1901 — the same patient craft behind every piece in the Cavallini collection. The Antico carries that tradition in a stepped profile with a raised inner ridge, the surface burnished to a soft, uneven silver that has the quality of something genuinely old.

The interior mat and backing are lined in Cavallini's Antico paper — a dense, all-over botanical print in red and cream that reads like the marbled endpapers of a well-traveled book. It is a considered detail: the paper is as much a part of the frame as the gilding.

The Antico holds a 4" x 6" photo and sits easily on a desk or shelf, alone or gathered with others from the collection.
