Cavallini & Co. Siena Gold Leaf Frame 4"x 6"

In a small Florentine workshop, artisans have been applying gold leaf by hand to wooden frames since 1901 — the same patient craft behind every piece in the Cavallini collection. The Siena picture frame carries that tradition in a wide, flat profile with a fine beaded inner edge, the surface burnished to a warm, uneven gold that reads as genuinely aged rather than manufactured.

The interior mat and backing are lined in Cavallini's Siena paper — a dense, repeating medallion pattern in navy, red, and ivory that calls to mind the decorated endpapers of an antique Florentine book. It is a considered detail: the paper is as much a part of the frame as the gilding.

Siena fits a 4" x 6" photograph and sits naturally on a desk or shelf, alone or gathered in a collection.
