Montes Doggett Large Bowl #116

The rim of this bowl rises and falls the way only a hand-shaped piece can — folding and dipping in a rhythm no mold would produce. Montes Doggett works with artisans in Peru who shape each piece from high-quality clay, and that process is visible in the finished object: slight undulations in the wall, a rim with its own quiet movement.

The glaze is a clean, crisp white that catches light differently depending on the angle — flat in shadow, almost luminous where it curves. Substantial enough to anchor a table or a sideboard, and deep enough to be genuinely useful — fruit, bread, a trailing ivy or two.

Lead-free clay, fired for durability. It goes from oven to table without complaint, and it washes easily. A piece that earns its place by being both worth looking at and worth using.
