Montes Doggett Vase #4

This silhouette is one of the oldest forms in ceramic work — and Montes Doggett's updated  version earns its place on any surface without announcement. A ridged middle gently curved body, raised foot ring, and small embossed MD medallion at the base. The white glaze is clean but not stark, with enough variation to read as handmade rather than machine-finished.

Each piece moves through a process that can take up to fifteen days, hand molded from fine-quality clay and high fired for strength. Montes Doggett works with a partner studio in Peru where the artisans have been working in clay for generations — the knowledge is in the hands, and it shows.

Wide enough to hold a loose bunch of stems or stand on its own on a shelf or side table. It works in multiples, at different heights, or alone.
